Two-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse
May 10, 2022
This is my go-to recipe when I get a craving for chocolate mousse and I don’t either have time or the ingredients to make something more elaborate such as a Pistachio Mousse, Mom’s Chocolate Pudding or this Dairy-Free Cocoa Mousse.
To make it happen all you need is two bananas, some dark chocolate, a blender (or a food processor) and the ability to melt chocolate — which I have been able to do since the age of 7 by accidentally leaving a Hershey bar in my pocket. Ha!
Melt, blend, refrigerate for 30 minutes and the mousse is ready. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. This Two-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse is as easy as it can get.
The mousse tastes like banana and chocolate, obviously. A flavor combination that I personally dig. Sometimes I like to add a drop of vanilla extract for an extra hint of flavor.
Also a dust of cocoa powder is the icing on top.
In its simplicity, this mousse is rich and has depth and it’s also so delicious and decadent that nobody will know you only used 2 ingredients and made them in about 3 minutes.

Ingredients
Serves 2
2 bananas (preferably more on the green side)
1.8 oz / 50 gr dark chocolate
Drop of vanilla extract (optional)
Cocoa powder for dusting (optional)
Directions
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over low heat. Alternatively you can do it in the microwave stopping and stirring at 20 second intervals, until completely melted.
Place bananas in a food processor or blender and pulse until roughly chopped.
Add melted chocolate and vanilla extract and process until smooth.
Transfer to two small bowls (or glasses) and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Dust with cocoa powder and serve!

Doesn't work. Does not thicken up. Tastes ok.
ReplyDeleteLove this little dessert! I added a tsp of vanilla extract and ground cinnamon for extra flavor and sweetness. I refrigerated mine for about 2hrs.
