There are 24 hours (or 1440 minutes or 86,400 seconds or 86,400,000 milliseconds) each day. In that time, we manage to carve out the time to work, to eat, to sleep, to watch TV, to stare at our smartphones, to go out, to bathe and to brush our teeth. When it comes to exercise however, we like to pull out the “no time” card.
Modern lives are busy; there’s no point denying that, and there are some legit reasons for not working out - we’re working very late or recovery from an injury - but often, we’re just talking ourselves out of it. Am I wrong?

As human beings, we are programmed for physical stimulation; it’s embedded in our DNA.
Our ancestor, the caveman (hey paleo people, this one for you) worked out every day.
He didn’t have a membership at Equinox or took CrossFit classes, but he woke up at sunrise, hunted and gathered food all day, built fires by night and then went to sleep.
In other words, he worked his butt off daily to survive. And he succeeded and flourished.

Today’s lifestyle, where we remain seated on a chair all day is, in fact, not suited for our bodies.
We need to move; it’s good for us.
A daily workout is what our sitting body desperately need.

Not only our bodies need it; our brain as well wants us to workout, even when we try to convince ourselves otherwise.
You know that amazing feel-good feeling you get after exercising? It happens because our brain releases feel-good hormones and small proteins called peptides like endorphins, serotonin and dopamine.
It’s its way to tell us “This was good, wasn’t it? Let’s do it again, soon!”

If that’s not enough, let’s cite some further reasons why you should move every day.
Exercise can make you look great – younger, fitter and thinner. It may also act as a temporary diversion to daily stresses. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for social interaction that may otherwise be lacking in an individual’s life.
In other words: Exercise…who needs it? You do!

Every day you have 24 hours (or 1440 minutes or 86,400 seconds or 86,400,000 milliseconds).
Find at least 1 hour (or 60 minutes or 3,600 seconds or 360,000 milliseconds) and move!
It’s worth your time, and after all you’re doing it for yourself.

  1. Funny how people will always find time for what they truly wanna do.

Else, they'll just find an excuse!

I think my health is very well worth investing 60 minutes of my time each day. No more excuses for this girl! :)

  5. Agreed! It's not selfish, it's not "me time" and it's not frivolous. It's about complete health and wellness.

  6. Health is what we carry on till old age. We should invest our time in our health. I suggest powerful exercises like yatching, canoeing, weightlifting. They burn thousands of calories per hour.
