Today is one of those days. Yesterday I pedaled 60k on the bike, and afterwards I ran 10k in an impressive time of 37:46 minutes. At the end I was exhausted but uber satisfied.
This morning I woke up and instead of going swimming as scheduled, I just chilled. I thought to myself that yesterday’s training had been so rad that I deserved to rest a little bit more.
Matter of fact, there’s nothing preventing my exercise routine today. Yesterday I trained my legs/lower body, and today I should swim and focus on my upper body. My legs are a bit sore, but from the belly up I’m more then ready to "fly" through the water.
So, what’s preventing me going swimming? Just laziness, and some sort of feeling of accomplishment.
Fortunately, I remembered a quote an old trainer of mine once told me during one of those lazy days: “If what you did yesterday still looks big to you today, then you must not have done anything today!” Words of wisdom that I should not forget.
Having said that, I’m off to the swimming pool. Have a great workout y’all!
The Iron You
Amen!
