Many readers have asked me to post what my meals and snacks look like. I guess that just talking about it isn’t enough. So I’m gonna start with breakfast.
This is what I had this morning: a big “bowl” of green tea, a “shot” of organic pomegranate juice, a glass of pineapple juice, and - last but not least - a “rad” (and very pink) berry protein smoothie.
I know that in the past I claimed that oatmeal is my usual breakfast choice, but when it gets warmer I just can’t stomach oatmeal. For some reasons my body refuses to take-in hot stuff in the morning. This means that until September no more oatmeal for me.
Instead, I made myself a very tasty smoothie. Today I felt like having a mixed berry smoothie. Yesterday I bought some awesome organic strawberries, I also had some frozen organic blueberries and raspberries left in the freezer. One scoop of vanilla protein powder, a generous amount of mixed berries juice, a couple of pulses and breakfast is served.
By looking at the first picture I bet you’ll be probably wondering how “liquid” this meal is. Juice plus juice plus tea plus smoothie. There's not denying that. But during the warmer months isn’t it key to hydrate yourself? Also, as long as I don’t feel the need for solid food I don’t see the harm in not having it.
Yes, there’s a lot of sugar involved. But it only comes from the fruits involved. Plus my muscles really need it for the long hours of training I have ahead of me.
Last, but not least, I’m getting all nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants that necessary.
So yes, I think I got all bases covered, and I’m off to the swimming pool now.
