The Greater Good Movie: Please Watch To Learn About The Dangers Of Vaccines

I have to thank Anthony at rawmodel.com for signaling this. “The Greater Good” is a movie about the Vaccine war that is going on in the US. If you are a parent or know parents do recommend to watch this.
As we always stress on TheIronYou you need knowledge in order to make informed decisions.
And when it come to vaccines and to our children we know too little and the risks are just too high!
The film looks behind the fear, hype and politics that polarize people into emotionally charged pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine camps with no room for middle ground. Verite stories of individuals and their families, whose lives have been forever changed by vaccine choices, interwoven with interviews from leading experts in the field, will re-frame the vaccine debate and offer, for the first time, the opportunity to have a rational, scientific and factual discussion on how to create a more effective vaccine program in America today1."

I just watched this and I can’t recommend it enough.
From October 30th through November 5th, Dr. Joseph Mercola and the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) are teaming up to present Vaccine Awareness Week. In addition to all new articles on vaccine topics and never-before-seen video profiles of the vaccine injured and their families interviewed by NVIC’s co-founder and president Barbara Loe Fisher, the week will also feature an exclusive, free, online viewing of THE GREATER GOOD at the following link:

  2. Whilst I do think there does need to be stringent regulation and greater accountability of pharmaceutical companies and personally I find advertising for pharmaceuticals abhorent I also think this film was pretty short-sighted and superficial. There is worldwide evidence to suggest that everytime there is a drop in vaccination rates there is a consequent rise in mortality rates from the diseases those vaccinations suppress. Infants and the aged die from measles, rubella can result in birth defects if contracted whilst pregnant.
Without going into too much detail there are very real consequences of not vaccinating children. I appreciate that this doesn't negate the possibility of negative outcomes as a result of vaccination and I think that there needs to be far greater accountability on the part of drug companies. I also think the community needs to be far more knowledgable about the possible side effects of vaccinations but alongside greater awareness of the implications of the diseases the vaccinations is seeking to cure. I would like to see an approach to this debate which emphasised greater knowledge on both sides rather than scaring parents into questioning vaccine programs more generally. It is these programs that have pretty much rid the Western world of small pox and polio to name but two horrific diseases.

  3. I should point out that the above comments were based purely on the trailer (I have just realised that there is a feature film as well) - I will watch the whole film when I have the chance and perhaps my view will be different.

  4. Hi Liz,

    Thank you for your comment.
I'm 100% with you on this one and that is why I recommend watching "The Greater Good"
It's not biased at all and gives voices to both worlds.
But, most of all, it provides a great deal of information which I believe is key when it comes down to make health choices!

I would love to hear from you once you watched the whole thing (just remember that it's available on-line just until tomorrow!)

    Peace
    Mike

  5. Hi Mike, I've watched it all now and I'm glad that I have. I think as a film it was very strong on highlighting deficiencies within the system and the lack of thorough trials on vaccinations. It did get me thinking about whether or not each individual vaccine was really neccessary - in particular HPV. I think that as a vehicle to enable parents to make an informed decision about vaccination more generally it is less strong. It makes the case that there can be serious side effects as a result of vaccinations but it doesn't show the flip side - the impact on families that have had kids die or had serious complications as a result of the diseases the vaccination is protecting them from.
To me the film could have been stronger if it concentrated more heavily on the lack of thorough vaccine trials and less on the story of the families who have been affected by the side effects of the vaccines. But then perhaps thats just my interest in the politics of it all. In Australia vaccination is heavily encouraged but it certainly is the choice of the parents so perhaps that changes the perspective I bring to the film.

Thanks for posting the link. I've had an interesting evening.

  6. I haven't watched the film yet but from your post and other reader's comments, I'm very interested!

Won't have time to watch it online but hope I get the chance to see it soon.

We plan on delaying vaccinations for our baby so that we can have more time to assess the benefits and risks. There are risks to not vaccinating but there are also risks in vaccinations.

    Thanks for the info!

  7. Nessa, you should absolutely watch the movie, you get so much good information pro and against vaccination.
As a soon to be mum you wanna get as much knowledge as possible in order to make the best informed decision for your baby.

I'm sure that, if you can't watch it online, you'll be able to rent it on DVD or on streaming!

    Peace
